Better Design Award Design Empowerment Industry Matching Conference Successfully Held in Shanwei, Guangdong Province, China

In response to the "Industrial Design Empowerment Guangdong Action Plan (2022-2025)" and requirements of the Special Action for Industrial Design Empowerment in Eastern, Western, and Northern Guangdong, and to promote the transformation of design achievements and the gathering of outstanding talents in Guangdong, the Better Design Award Design Empowerment Industry Matching Conference was successfully held in Shanwei on December 12th.

This event attracted over 100 representatives from top project teams in the competition, industry experts, upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain, industry associations and social organizations. Zhang Jun, Director of the Industrial Park Department of the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, and Feng Qisong, Deputy Director of the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shanwei City, attended the meeting.

This event brings in design agencies, academic experts and other industry service resources, with activities such as on-site research and keynote speeches. It also features concurrent BDA exhibition of outstanding design works and design-driven brand products, aiming to build a platform for in-depth exchange between design and industry, promote the fruitful outcomes of the Better Design Award, and empower design to drive Guangdong's high-quality development, thereby assisting the "High Quality Development Project for Hundred Counties, Thousand Towns and Ten Thousand Villages" in accelerating its progress.

At the conference, Xue Haocheng, General Manager of YOHO Design, Zhou Luping, Founder of Shenzhen Jixing Creative Design Co., Ltd, Wu Pinzhun, Founder of Yushang Industrial Design (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., and Guo Kaixuan, Senior Packaging Designer of Shenzhen Yuto Packaging Technology Co.,ltd., etc., design experts with rich experience, took turns on stage to share the latest achievements and industry trends in design, and exchanged in-depth views on how design can empower industrial development.

The senior professors and industry leaders, including Gu Fang, the Director of Shanwei Innovation Industrial Design Institute, Sun Zhixue, Professor at the School of Creative Design at South China Normal University, Xu Guojun, Lecturer in Art Design at Shanwei Institute of Technology, Qin Bo, General Manager of Roofer Electronics Technology (ShanWei) Co., Ltd., Lin Haoxi, Design Engineer at Truly International Holdings Limited, and Guo Weiming, Engineering Manager of Ideal Jewelry Company Limited, shared their insights and experiences around the theme of "Design Empowerment: Innovative Transformation and Integrated Development of Shanwei Industries". Together, they explored how design innovation can drive the high-quality development of Shanwei industries.

After the matching meeting, the delegates conducted in-depth research on Truly International Holdings Limited, Shan Wei Cathay Food Industries Limited, and other Shanwei enterprises. Through on-site visits to local enterprises, they deeply understood the actual situation and design needs of enterprises, promoted the effective transformation of the design results of the competition, and jointly explored a new path for the design empowerment industry.
