
He has served as Dean of the School of Design at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, a Distinguished Professor of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program, Chair Professor of the School of Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, President of AGI China, Executive Director of AGI, Vice President of the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (ICOGRADA), and Member of the Creative Economy Council of the World Economic Forum. He was also Art Director for Image and Landscape at the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games.
In 2004, he founded the Olympic Art Research Center at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and served as its Director. The center was responsible for designing key projects including the Olympic Sports Pictograms, the Olympic Medals, and the Olympic Color System.
From October 2006 to October 2008, he held the position of Art Director for Image and Landscape at the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games. For the outstanding work of the Olympic Art Research Center, the Central Academy of Fine Arts was commended by the State Council in 2009.
