Bongkyu Song
Founder, Design Director of BKID
BongKyu Song (b.1979) studied Industrial Design in Seoul and led the Galaxy mobile design at Samsung Electronics. In 2006, he founded BKID, working across product, furniture, lighting, brand strategy, and research with global clients such as BMW, Audi, Siemens, and Amore Pacific. Since 2020, he has directed Seating Seoul, archiving chairs by Seoul designers. He has won iF, Red Dot, and IDEA awards, exhibited globally at Super Studio and Maison&Objet, and now co-leads BKID and Matter & Matter. Named KIDP Next Gen Design Leader (2009), he served as iF juror (2020) and Seoul Design Committee advisor, and was recognized by JungAng Ilbo and Forbes.
