Special Vice President of the China Industrial Design Association. Advisor for Industrial Design at Tsinghua University and Professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Former Director of the Beijing Industrial Design Center and Executive Director of the International Center for Creativity and Sustainable Development under the auspices of UNESCO. Executive Chairman of the China Design Red Star Award, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education's Industrial Design Teaching Guidance Committee, and a key member of the Ministry of Science and Technology's Expert Group on "Modern Service Industries". He has been deeply committed to design research, industry advancement, and fostering international exchange. In 1995, he founded the Beijing Industrial Design Center, coordinating the execution of 50 industrial design demonstration projects for the Beijing Municipal Government. Additionally, he curated the "Contemporary Chinese Art & Design Exhibition" for the Ministry of Culture in celebration of Hong Kong's return in 1997 and was the chief designer of the "Sci-Tech Float" for China’s 50th National Day parade. He has established the Beijing DRC Industrial Design Creative Industry Base, Red Star Design Award, Beijing International Design Week, and the Beijing-Nairobi Creative R&D Center. Serving as an advisor to the Beijing Municipal Government, he was the principal author of the Shendu Report, successfully advocating for Beijing’s designation as a "City of Design" within UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network.
