Cao Xue is Professor at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, PhD advisor, and Deputy Chair of the Academic Committee. He led the design team for “Bing Dwen Dwen”, the mascot of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, and served as its chief designer. He also designed Guangzhou's first city image logo, the Guangzhou Public Security logo, the "Hello · China Bamboo" logo for sustainable development, and the Asia Food Festival logo, all of which have been widely acclaimed. He has won numerous awards, including the Red Dot, iF, IDEA, and Pentawards. In 2022, he was named "Artist of the Year" by New Weekly. Dedicated to reform and innovation in design education, he has been awarded titles such as Outstanding Teacher of Southern Guangdong and China’s Top Ten Designers. The international design exhibition series "Outside the Tower", which he curated, has successfully held five editions in cities like London, Milan, Paris, Athens, and Madrid, using design as a medium to tell China’s story and earning him high regard in both the industry and academia.
