On July 5th, the 2025 Better Design Award (BDA) Promotion Conference was successfully held in Shanghai. Focused on the theme of "Breakthrough and Reshaping Design," the event attracted over 120 attendees, including domestic industry elites, experts and scholars in the field of design innovation, and representatives from the manufacturing industry, to discuss innovation and development in the design industry.
Yu Wei, Professor and Dean of Research at the School of Art Design and Media, East China University of Science and Technology, presented the competition. He detailed the background, purpose, and schedule of Better Design Award (BDA). He emphasized that BDA closely adheres to the requirements of Chinese modernization practices, focusing on the development of a modern industrial system and new-quality productivity, and exploring outstanding practices in design-driven technology, products, scenarios, and industrial innovation.
During the sharing session, five guests, including Li Licheng, founder of the TAJEZZO brand; Ye Wenjing, general manager of EKA Tianwu; Yao Chunjiang, head of experience innovation at Shanghai United Imaging Medical Technology Co., Ltd.; Zhang Jiuzhou, co-founder of XIVO Design; and Zheng Zhongyang, founder of Puxiang.com, delivered engaging speeches. Drawing on their rich practical experience, they shared unique insights and successful cases in design innovation, brand building, and user experience, providing valuable insights and reflections for attendees.
During the roundtable discussion, moderated by Zheng Zhongyang, founder of Puxiang.com, guests including Li Licheng, Yao Chunjiang, and Zhang Jiuzhou engaged in an in-depth conversation on the theme of "Breakthrough and Reshaping Design." They explored how, in today's rapidly changing market and technological landscape, designers can break free from the constraints of traditional thinking and use innovative design concepts and methods to reshape the value of products and services, meeting the increasingly diverse and personalized needs of users.
The successful launch not only provided a platform for communication between participants and design enthusiasts of the Better Design Award, but also injected new impetus into the innovative development of the design industry.
