2025 Better Design Award Shenzhen Promotion Conference was successfully held

On July 22, 2025, the Better Design Award Promotion Conference was successfully held in Shenzhen. The event attracted over 100 participants, including experts and scholars in the field of design innovation, as well as renowned designers, design agencies, and representatives from smart manufacturing companies. Yi Sanping, Director of the Consumer Goods Industry Division of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, and Luo Yufeng, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Bao'an District Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, attended the event.

At the beginning of the event, Shirley Feng, Chairman of the China Industrial Design Collaborative Innovation Platform and President of Shenzhen Industrial Design Profession Association, delivered a welcome speech and put forward the vision of "lighting up a better life with better  design."

Lu Xiaobo, Jury President of Better Design Award, Distinguished Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tsinghua University, and dean of the Tsinghua-Momentum Institute for Smart Scenario Innovation Design, explained the competition rules in detail to clarify the direction for the participants.

The design sharing session was packed with highlights, with Mindray Medical's Industrial Design Director Zhao Jinzhou, iFlytek's Industrial Design Center Director Zhu Chen, and LeapX Design's Business Director Liang Yujie sharing innovative practices from the digital age. Among them, the ultra-high-end ultrasound diagnostic system and the Translator 4.0, both gold medal winners from the previous competition, demonstrate the power of design in enhancing product competitiveness.

The "Design × Smart City" industry dialogue session was a captivating event. Moderated by Du Hemin, Deputy Dean of the College of Creative Design at Shenzhen Technology University, Ding Zhiyong, Senior Design Director of YUTO Packaging; Wen Yuanyou, Design Director and Head of the Design Center at HKC; Yu Dingguan, R&D Director of Bifoxs Design; Tang Meimei, Co-founder of 9-o'clock Design; Shen Lin, Cultural Design Director of Lofree; and Zhang Chenghe, Head of Marketing at Future Factory, engaged in a lively discussion on "Design Empowers the Reconstruction of the Manufacturing Value Chain."

The "Better Design Award Exhibition" held at the same time brings together more than 100 selected exhibits, covering areas such as smart wearables and smart homes, allowing participants to experience them up close, feel the innovative results of the integration of design and technology, and appreciate the convenience of life brought by modern technology.
