This grand event witnessed the grand launch of Better Design Award (BDA), aiming to promote the internationalization and sustainable development of the award through academic contributions. The conference brought together professors from top design institutions worldwide, industry leaders, and innovative practitioners to explore effective pathways and strategies for the integration of design and industry, providing new perspectives for industrial upgrades and design innovation.

The seminar focused on two main themes: "Paths and Solutions for the Integration of Design and Industry" and "New Ideas for Design Empowering High-quality Urban Development." Representatives from the design and industry sectors engaged in in-depth discussions on how to achieve deep integration of design and industry in the context of economic globalization and technological innovation, particularly in light of the advancements in artificial intelligence. He Renke, Professor of School of Design at Hunan University, emphasized that design is a crucial part of a company's core competitiveness and that talent cultivation and foundational research should be prioritized. Meanwhile, Zhao Chao, Deputy Dean of the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University, called for collaborative efforts from the government, businesses, and educational institutions to promote reforms in design education.

During the discussion on how design can empower high-quality urban development, Zou Zhenmeng, Vice President of Shenzhen Industrial Design Profession Association, noted that design plays a crucial role in enhancing residents' living experiences and driving social progress. Many guests emphasized that design should go beyond mere aesthetics and become a force for advancing social progress and improving people’s quality of life.
